HOW WE DO IT
At Desh Care International, we employ a variety of strategies to ensure that we reach the most vulnerable girls in our communities. Our goal is not only to provide for their physical needs but also to nurture their spiritual growth, restoring both dignity and faith. To achieve this, we work through a dedicated team of coordinators who carefully identify schools and villages that are most in need. We look at key factors such as lack of access to sanitary towels, high levels of school absenteeism, and spiritual deficiency within a community. By targeting these areas, we ensure that our programs are reaching those who would otherwise be left behind. Once the schools and communities are identified, our team works hand in hand with local coordinators, school administrators, and teachers to plan and execute each event. Every outreach is carefully organized to meet both physical and spiritual needs, creating an environment where girls feel safe, supported, and valued.

When the day of the event arrives, everything begins with prayer. We believe that prayer sets the tone for what God desires to do, inviting His presence and blessing into the program. Afterward, the girls are welcomed with warm introductions, where volunteers present themselves and begin to build trust. To break the ice and create a sense of joy, we engage the girls in fun activities, games, songs, and laughter. These moments of play are essential because they help build rapport, allowing the girls to relax, open up, and feel comfortable enough to share their stories and personal needs.
Once a connection is established, the teaching session begins. A trained female facilitator, versed in sexual and reproductive health, leads this session. She carefully explains important topics such as menstrual health, how to use and dispose of sanitary towels properly, and how to care for their bodies with dignity. This section is intentionally led by women facilitators so that the girls feel safe to listen, learn, and ask questions without fear or shame. The conversation empowers them with knowledge, while also breaking the silence and stigma that often surrounds such topics in their communities.

Following this, the girls are divided into smaller groups. These group discussions provide a safe space for more personal questions, where the girls can open up about their challenges and struggles in a supportive setting. In these intimate groups, we also introduce the Gospel. Bible stories are shared, questions are asked, and meaningful discussions take place, giving the girls an opportunity to learn about God’s love and discover their worth in Christ. This Bible study setting not only strengthens their faith but also helps them build deeper relationships with one another and with God.
Typically, we spend about an hour in these fellowship sessions. It is a time filled with encouragement, learning, and transformation. Afterward, we gather together again, distribute the hygiene products, and close with prayer. These final moments often feel like a celebration, a chance to make new friends, share smiles, and leave the girls with a renewed sense of dignity, confidence, and hope.
Through this approach, Desh Care International has found a model that works. It is holistic, addressing the immediate physical needs of girls while simultaneously planting seeds of faith that point them to Christ. The combination of prayer, fun, health education, small group discipleship, and distribution ensures that our impact is not just temporary but lasting.
For us, every outreach is more than just an event; it is a chance to transform lives. By meeting girls where they are, listening to their stories, and walking with them in both practical and spiritual matters, we give them the tools and the hope they need to face life with courage. At Desh Care International, we believe that this blend of care and discipleship
